make-android-faster

MIUI, a beautiful user interface with lot of customization, But every good thing has its bad side also. MIUI is resource eater, its usage is very high while running and lags a lot after some time of use. Well we all wish our phones were just a little faster, right? Whether it is device from three years ago or rocking a brand new one, it's the same — more speed is better.
I am going to share some tips which I have personally tried and worked for me. These may work for you also so I am sharing here.

Here are What to Try & What to Avoid

What Works: The Basics

The default apps and settings on Android aren't always the best if speed is your priority. Making a few changes and keeping your phone free from clutter can give you a quick performance boost.

Keep Home Screen Clean

1 (7)

Keep Wallpaper simple, maybe dark color. Live wallpapers and widgets use lot of resources and keep continue updating in the background. Keep Home Screen simple will keep RAM usage low.
Where you're most likely to see their impact is through something called "Home Screen Redraw" or "Just a Sec". When you switch away from a RAM-heavy app like Chrome, Facebook App you'll see a completely blank home screen and have to wait a couple of seconds while your icons, widgets, and wallpaper all reload.

Turn off or Reduce Animations

1 (4)1 (5)

You can make your Android device feel snappier by reducing or turning off some of animations. You’ll need to enable Developer options, Go to Settings --- About phone ----- MIUI Version. Tap on it seven times and you should see a message about being a developer. You can now go back to the previous menu and you should see Developer options under Additional Settings. Head in there and scroll down to find Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale. Tap each in turn and set it to .5x or off. Pick an option and find out what suits you, if you don’t like just go back in and change the values again.

Clear Cached App Data

1 (2)1 (3)

Cached data for apps should help them to load more quickly, but it can build up over time to take up quite a lot of space and there will potentially be cached data in there for apps that you no longer use. Sometimes clearing cached data for an app can also help clear up flaky behavior.

If you want to pick individual apps then head into Settings ----- Installed Apps and  tap on the relevant app then choose Clear cache. If you’ve decided to just clear the whole lot then go to Settings -------- Storage and tap on Cached data and then tap OK. Also, check out CCleaner, it cleans out your app cache and helps perform this kind of maintenance.

Uninstall Bad Apps

'Bad apps' (seems strange name) are often to blame for slowing down your phone. It's not always obscure apps, either — some of the industry's biggest names are the culprits. I have seen lot of Android users using Clean Master, which is the biggest culprit to me for lag. Clean Master was blacklisted for googlian. Snapchat is notoriously laggy on Android, while uninstalling Facebook could make your phone as much as 15% faster. Try switching to a third party Facebook app instead. If you're a Snapchat user, you're stuck with the official app. Use Stock Mail App intead of Gmail App.You can check App usage your self and manage Memory accordingly. Facebook App, Messenger, Gmail official App, Chrome to me are worst RAM eaters.

Remove 3rd Party Antivirus Software

Antivirus software offers peace of mind to Android users, but it's unnecessary, and it slows down your phone. As long as you only install apps from official sources like the Play Store or the Amazon App-store, then you're extremely unlikely to encounter malware. MIUI has Native Antivirus which is enough good for Extra security.

Turn off or Reduce Auto-Sync

Most of us end up adding a list of different accounts to our Android devices and we allow them to automatically sync in the background to pull in new data and provide us with updates. All this syncing has a big impact on performance, not to mention battery life.

You could go to Settings and find Auto-sync under Accounts and just turn it off altogether, but that will be too drastic for most people. Instead why not just reduce the sync frequency and remove any accounts you don’t really need? For a lot of apps, like Facebook, you’ll need to open up the app and find the settings to reduce the sync frequency.

Wipe Cache Partition

The cache partition is separate from your app data cache and it contains temporary files. It’s worth cleaning this out every once in a while. You’ll have to boot into recovery mode to do it. The method of entering recovery mode is Volume Down + power Key in MIUI devices or Use Reboot in Recovery from Updater app and varies on other android devices, but you’ll find it easily with a quick Google search. Once in recovery mode you use the volume keys to navigate and the power key to select an item. You’ll want to choose wipe cache partition.

Since Xiaomi has locked Bootloader of some devices, You will need TWRP to Wipe Cache.

Keep Less Apps in Autostart (No App)

1 (6)

Keep the most important apps in Auto Start or No app. Open the app which you want to use and keep it Locked in recent tray if you want notifications from it. This will prevent Auto Killing of apps also in background.

Often Use Deep Clean option

1 (8)

Deep Clean option helps to free RAM and improves Phone performance.

Reboot Regularly(Once a Day)

Last up, rebooting your phone helps to keep it running smoothly. Rebooting helps to released occupied resources.

Perform a Factory Reset

This is a drastic step, but some people recommend that you do a factory reset periodically if you want your device running in tip-top condition. It’s a shortcut to cleaning up your device and getting rid of any junk you’ve accumulated, but it means wiping all of the data and settings. If you decide to try it then make sure you back up everything that’s important to you first. You can find the option to do it in Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

What Works : The Geekier Stuff

Want something a bit more advanced? If you like delving into hidden settings, or if your device is rooted, then you have even more opportunities to speed up Android.

Uninstall and Disable Unused Apps

You don’t want to allow apps that you never use to take up space on your device and potentially eat into system resources. Go to Settings > Apps and swipe over to the All tab. Take a good long look down the list and identify the apps you don’t want or need. If you’re in doubt about what any of them do then it’s time to hit Google and check.

Tap on any app you don’t want and then choose Uninstall or, if the option is not there to uninstall, tap Disable. Disabled apps will be listed in a new tab, so you can always enable them again in future if you change your mind.

Some devices does not give option to remove apps, Root your device and Remove apps. Titanium App is the best choice.

Try a Different ROM

A custom ROM contains a complete build of the Android operating system, and it replaces all the software that came pre-installed on your phone. ROMs may have a different look or extra features, or they may be optimized for performance.

Installing a custom ROM is a good idea if the stock software on your phone isn't great. Many manufacturers pack their devices with extra apps and features that makes them bloated, buggy, and slow. Replacing it with a bloat-free ROM like CyanogenMod can give you an instant speed boost.

Flash a Custom Kernel

The kernel manages every interaction between your phone's software and hardware. There are many good reasons to use custom kernel, and the ability to speed up your phone is among the best. Custom kernels enable you to tweak how the hardware functions. You can change how quickly the processor ramps up to top speed, or how busy it needs to be before it activates extra cores.

Some even offer per-app settings so you can have the device running on maximum power when playing a particular game and dropping back to normal as soon as you exit it. Many custom kernels also allow you to overclock the CPU and make it run faster. However, this is a contentious topic, and many believe that any perceived benefits are purely placebo.

Control Background Apps with Greenify

Task killers don't speed up your phone, as we'll see shortly. The app Greenify sounds like a task killer — it prevents apps from running in the background — but there's a subtle difference.

Greenify runs at the system level to not only close apps, but also prevent them from running at all until you need them. This means it also has the effect of stopping apps from auto-syncing, as well as preventing them from loading when you boot your phone. Greenify is primarily intended for battery saving, but it offers real performance boosts too.

What Doesn't Work on Stock Android but Works on MIUI

As well as the tips that do work, there are a few accepted speed-boosting techniques that don't. Be wary of any app that makes grand claims about how much they can speed up your phone.

Task Killers

Task Killers are among the most popular utilities on the Play Store, yet they are completely worthless. In fact, they can make your phone slower. A task killer closes background apps to free up RAM. The idea is that free RAM improves performance, but this isn't true.

Android is designed to keep apps in RAM so they can be restored quickly and will intelligently close apps when it needs to free up extra resources. More importantly, some processes relating to some apps will start up again as soon as they are killed because they need to be running in the background. This constant stopping and starting will slow your phone down far more than if you just leave Android to do the job it was built to do.

MIUI deals with task killing in efficient way, You can use AutoStart, Close app Completely, Manage App Usage like features to make Task Killing work. Clearing App from App try removes the app from RAM also.

Closing Apps

For the same reason, there's no need to be fastidious about manually closing apps. Again, Android manages this automatically.

If Android needs to free up resources, it will close whichever app you haven't used in a while. If not, there's no harm leaving them alone, where they will have little or no effect on either performance or battery life.

MIUI gives easy options to close apps.

Using any Speed Boosters

While we try to avoid generalizations, it's safe to say you should avoid any non-root app that promises to improve the performance of your phone. This includes RAM boosters, SD card speeder-uppers, and defragmenters. They rarely work, can actually slow your phone down, and are often packed with highly intrusive ads.

MIUI has Cleaner and Deep Clean inbuilt with great algorithm.

Hitting the Limits

Of course, there's only so far you can go to speed up your phone. You can keep it running fast and smooth for a while, but sooner or later you'll hit the limits of the hardware. Then you reach the ultimate speed tip: upgrade to a new device.

Good Luck. Thank
